Chilean Tall Ship Esmeralda will be gracing Cartegna.

Flying the Chilean flag since 1954, this 371-foot, four-masted vessel has called on more than 300 ports. She serves as a floating embassy and training ship for the Chilean Navy.

Her sister ship is the training ship for the Spanish Navy, the four-masted topsail schooner Juan Sebastián Elcano. Sometime in the 1970s Esmeralda's rigging was changed to a four-masted barquentine by replacing the fore gaff
